I do more fabric purchasing, and less sewing. Excited, but less productivity. The result? Staring at the fabrics and drool, endlessly. So this weekend, I'm gonna do MORE sewing. You'll see. I need a new purse, because my wallet can no longer hold my stuff, mostly papers. So I use my mom's old wallet. It is old, so I need to make one for myself. I decided to make a purse using Damask In Cream Indian Summer by Zoe Pearn fabric, but without zipped pockets on the outside. I thought that such a beautiful and lovely print should not be tainted by pockets. Ok, I'm lazy. These are Pleated Purse and Wristlets ordered by customers. Enjoy your weekends ya!!

Assalamualaikum... Lately, my FB wall is filled with gruesome pictures and videos of babies and children. I don't have the heart to look closely. But the next day, its the same story, People are sharing, so it is not gonna be gone any time soon. It is good to share, so that people are aware of what has been happening to our society. However, my fear is that if we got used to these pictures or videos, we might lose our sense of pity. We might think that "oh, this thing happens...". Nauzubillahiminzalik. I still haven't have the heart to watch the video of that 2-year old kid in China being run down by 2 vehicles! So, whenever I log in to my FB, I go straight to Geng Mesin Jahit (GMJ) and Geng Gila Kain (GGK), the groups I joined to see people with the same interest as I am. Lots of beautiful pictures, projects, fabrics, clothes, tips, tutorials and so on... The kind of pages that really make my day. So if you haven't join yet, just go. You won't regret it. Ye...

I made another 2 more wristlets for my sister's colleagues. This is the first time I use cotton denim material. I bought it at Daiso in KK for, of course, RM5! The floral one I use cotton linen, I guess, because it is cotton, and got textures. My mom bought the fabric from a local store. I've made several wristlet for people, but none for me. Whenever I go out for lunch, I had to bring my wallet, handphone, and sometimes keys. It is a hassle. Why didn't I make my wristlet before? It is because I had a hard time CHOOSING pattern and fabric. I'm glad it is over. However, I'm not sure what fabric this one is called. Velvet, perhaps? A zippered pocket on the outside 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" of size 2 open pockets on the inside It is made to fit my bulky wallet, which, only bulky on pay day and gone flat on the next day (after paying loans). Ahaks.....

Salam. Ever since 2011 started, I got no new project. Maybe I was busy, or maybe I got no new ideas. But yesterday my teen cousin Ezzah was celebrating her birthday. So, my mind automatically think of wristlet. But since it was a short notice, I only made a simple wristlet. Should I get more time, I'll make some pockets and embellishments. Last week, my sis and the family went back home to Labuan. She wanted me to sew a wristlet for her. She wanted the same fabric as the sling pouch I made for her daughter. Like daughter, like mother. So I started sewing the night before she went back to KK. To my surprise, I managed to finished it around 3 hours, no pockets & compartment. That was when my whole body aches after Volleyball games earlier that afternoon. So these are the result:) Close-up view Same view, only vertical. haha..

In the midst of the busy time the last couple of weeks, I still managed to try out several projects. My hands were itched when I saw TiniHani JOM JAHIT, thanks to you. There were tutorials on how to make a simple wristlet. I had to try them. This is my first ever handmade wristlet! I made this by using a hard cotton and a spongy interfacing (don't actually know what it's called). It's perfect for handphones, cameras, etc... For the first-timer, it's okay. I LOVE IT!! Wouldn't you? Will try to make my netbook's sleeve later.
