Sew Me Happy

Sewaktu ku melewati rak-rak buku di Perpustakaan Awam Labuan (PAL) dengan cepat kerana suami menunggu di dalam kereta, aku ternampak sebuah buku yang terlentang di atas rak. Ia sebuah novel melayu dan aku terus membaca sinopsis dan melihat tahun terbitan. Tahun 2023!   Apa yang menarik minatku adalah warna cover novel iaitu pink. Dan, penulis novel adalah lelaki. Rasanya ini baru pertama kali ku membaca novel genre kehidupan bahasa melayu yang ditulis oleh lelaki. So I gave it a try. I really wanna see how penulis lelaki mengolah ayat di dalam tulisannya. So I grabbed the book with 2 other books dan turun ke tingkat bawah untuk meminjam buku. 2 buku lain tu bertajuk KEBAYA TALES by Lee Su Kim dan PUAKA BUNDLE by Ayda Arianna (so RANDOM, I know).  Abi Umi ni tak pernah faham Ain! Semua pilihan Abi dan Umi, tak pernah Ain bantah walau sekali. Namun setiap kali Ain suarakan keinginannya, semuanya ditentang. Sehingga ada rahsia yang Ain pendam daripada pengetahuan Abi dan Umi...

Guten Abend. Yup. That is "good evening" in Germany. I've been waiting for this book to be made available for borrowing in Labuan Public Library since last year. I've read the synopsis and I knew that library is ordering it. Sadly, the library was moving even farther than before. I had to drive to get there. I had to put it on hold until last wednesday, I did went to the library. Hooray!! Okay, it's not that exciting to some people. To make the story short, I got this book, and it just made my day. Started reading it, and finished on friday. I am wayyyy satisfied with this book. I love the story because it is something different. This is the back cover synopsis :- On the day Katharina Linden disappears, Pia is the last person to see her alive. Terror i spreading through the town. How could a ten-year-old girl vanish in a place where everybody knows everybody else? Pia is determined to find out what happened to Katharina. But then the next girl disappears........ T...

Akhirnya...... Berjaya juga aku menghabiskan novel ni setelah mengambil masa untuk memulakan bacaan. Berhabuk dulu baru baca. (Eh, entri ku dalam bahasa melayu?) Hahaha.... Mood ku dalam bahasa melayu selepas baca novel bahasa melayu. Sebelum tu, aku mau bercerita mengenai kisah pendek bagaimana aku memiliki novel ini. Ringkasnya, nenek mertua ku yang bagi novel ni, selepas dia nampak aku membaca novel Stephen King. Katanya, cucu-cucunya tidak minat membaca, lebih baik wariskan kepada ku. Hehehe.. Jangan tak percaya ya! Nenek mertua I masih baca novel! Jangan jeles...... Hahaha... Sudah tu, bukan 1, tapi 2 novel!! Satu lagi bertajuk Buatmu Kekasih , tulisan Aisya Sofea. Yang ni mungkin pertengahan tahun ni baru aku baca kot? Kasi tebal habuk dulu. Hahaha... Aku sebenarnya kurang berminat untuk membaca novel genre cinta. Aku lebih suka genre seram, aksi, penyiasatan, kisah benar dan sesuatu yang berlainan. Ini mungkin kali kedua aku membaca hasil nukilan Damya Hanna. Walaupun aku jarang...

Novel by : Dennis Lehane I just finished reading Shutter Island, and it gave me a hell of a chill!! I actually have a choice whether to just watch the movie, or read the book. I took the long road, and did not regret it. I love it!! I am just not really sure about the ending though... :p Some brilliant writers have strange way of thinking. That's the way it is. Well.......

Book by : Faye Kellerman As much as I love reading horror or thriller stories, I also love the crime genre. This book is about a Detective who was assigned to a homicide case of the slayed Prom Queen. The suspect is a troubled yet handsome mafia son, whose only 18 and a partner of the dead prom queen. So he was caught after he confessed to the murder. The story goes until he was freed and proved not guilty. Somehow, the detective was sure that the boy is involved in a bigger murder case. He IS A HITMAN!! Can you believe that? :)Still, it is a book worth reading. Enjoy.....

Book by : Stephen King I am a thriller person, I love thriller movies, thriller books, even Thriller video by MJ. Hehehe.... This title, I remember watching Friends, and Joey said that he and Rachel watched a movie titled Cujo. I never forget that scene. But I never knew it was a Stephen King. Last week when I went to the library, I saw this book on the shelf, and without thinking further, I grabbed it. I finished it last night. I can tell you one thing about SK (Stephen King), his creativity is beyond our expectation. This story, Cujo is a very big dog, but tamed and friendly to people. Somehow, he got bitten by rabid bats, and Cujo's mind slowly deteriorating, and becoming more and more vicious. When Cujo lost all its sane mind, he killed his neighbor, his master and a police officer. He even tried to kill a mother ans her 4 year old son, whose stuck in a dead car. 4 days, tey stuck in it, and nobody came to help, except for the police officer who turned out murdered by Cujo. Wha...

I always love reading, ever since I could understand what I was reading. But I guess it started when I was 16, I was a librarian in my school. I even participated in english reading contest when I was 12, and got third place. not bad, huh? What I noticed was, this reading habit comes from my own. I was not influenced by my friends, or my family. I usually read alone, went to the library alone. Until now, I guess.. I hope that I would find a friend to share this interest, this hobby. Feels alone.. Lately, I don't have that much time to read. I was busy with sewing, my other interest. But I would not let time seperate me with reading. This is why I am starting a Book Club my Own. :) HAPPY READING...!
