Sew Me Happy

Last friday I started an "emergency" sewing. My Sis-In-Law, Sem need her baju kurung done before monday. I said I could finish it. And I did by this afternoon. Alhamdullillah, I got no obstacles. I hope she likes it. Already starting another blouse, for this vacation :) Can't wait...

Yes, I am onto something right now. A new project. Already made three of them. One more on the way, two more to go. Got ample time to sew coz hubby dearest is away at KK for a week. Will update tomorrow, after hubby is back. He brings our lappy, the one with photoshop. Wanna take the best pics for this project. Soon......

One of my projects during Ramadhan was making pillow covers. I had to change the cover since they are too old and different themes. So I was scouting fabrics in town. Sadly, modern pattern fabrics are soooo hard to find in Labuan. Dunno why. There are a lot of flowery patterns, which is so common. Lastly, I saw this yellow stripe pattern and the only color there is. I just grabbed it. It matched my chair. Then I made these covers. The hardest part was installing the zippers. First cover was a mess, but not that obvious. The second and third was perfect. So, next time I will make a ruffled pillow cover. Wish me luck!! hahaha...

Dari tahun lepas aku berangan nak buat baju kurung moden sendiri, lebih-lebih lagi lengan ala Dato' CT gitu... Aku sangat gemar fesyen kaf di tangan tu. Nampak sangat ekslusif, boleh membuatkan wanita nampak ramping dan tinggi. (Betul ka??? Pendapat aku la) Tapi aku cuma belajar melalui buku. Cuba nak buat pola baju ukuran badan sendiri. I've ruined 3 pasang kain sebagai trial n error. Turned out ALL ERROR!! hehehe... But then, that is LEARNING. Now I want to make another kurung moden with my new and improved pola. Hope this one success. Wish me LUCK!! Jom cuci mata dulu... Nice. Love the color combination. This is sooo pretty. Georgous!! Wow. Salam Ramadhan al-Mubarak. Wah... I am so very busy I had no time to update my blog. I was sewing baju raya. Don't wanna make the same mistake like last year, or the year before that. These are my progress report:- 1. 3 pasang baju kurung for my sis-in-law Anoi - DONE Baju kurung lining penuh kecuali tangan 2. Sepasang baju kurung pesak gantung for my MIL - DONE 3. Sepasang last year outstanding baju kurung for my sister - DONE 4. 4 pasang baju kurung for ME - DONE 5. Sepasang baju kurung pesak gantung for ME - DONE 6. 2 baju kurung pesak gantung for Me and my sister - Not even started yet!! Overall, i am very satisfied with myself. Kudos!!! P/S: Can't wait to see my nephew and niece balik kampung tomorrow :)Miss them so much!!

I bought my first Lux sewing machine 5 years ago, and I rarely use it. Maybe because my mom has sewing machines that complete my needs. Just imagine, a RM2000 machine spent 5 years in a box. What a waste of warranty. Now, I started to use it again, and to my worders, it is sooo useful and has a lot of patterns. Unfortunately I never get to learn embroidery with this machine. But for the first time, I can sew a buttonhole!! What a shame. I will never take my beautiful machine for granted anymore. I will use it until it cannot be used. Cheers!!! P/S : This Lux is a rebranding from Huskystar 215. Don't bother googling Lux!

Salam.... Memandangkan raya sdh dekat ni, aku misti buat satu pelan. PELAN MENYIAPKAN BAJU RAYA SECARA BERPERINGKAT MENGIKUT MINGGU. Amacam? Buleh kali ahhh..... Bukan apa, tahun2 sblm ni baju raya nda pandai siap awal. Malam takbir kakal lagi menjahit. Kakak ku lagi kesian. Bajunya raya kedua baru siap... Ani pun ada kakal kainnya utk raya tahun lapas blum bebuat. Kekekekehhhh.... Jangan mara aaaa.... (Barang pree mimang lambat siappp) Jadi dalam pelan tu nanti, aku siapkan dulu baju adik iparku Anoiiii 3 pasang. Pastu baju ku, pastu baju kakak ku, pastu bajuku, pastu baju ku lagi..... dan lagi.... dan lagii... bukan apa, byk bah kainku sudah. Mana yang tahun-tahun lapas, mana yang ku bali, mana yang mentua bagi, mana lg yang mama bagi, mana lagi yang ku minta dari mama.... hehehe.... Membuatnya balum lagi. Harap lapas ni aku ada cukup masa untuk siapkan semua SEBELUM RAYA! Aku rasa boleh dicapai kalau start sekarang. Chaiyoo! Chaiyoo!!

Di masa lapang, aku gemar menjahit. mudah kambuh, lebih2 lagi kalau memberku cRai bgtau ia sdg menjahit. Hehehe... Setakat ni, aku menjahit baju kurung ku sendiri, baju kakak ku dan baju melayu adikkudan anak buahku. Bukan lah jua pandai banar menjahit. Ilmu tu pun belum cukup lagi. Sekarang ni pun aku belajar sendiri melalui buku Mariam Abu Bakar, ataupun ikut mengamatanku saja. Selalu kalau ke kenduri kahwin, mataku meliar meliat baju orang. Hehehe... Sebelum majlis pernikahanku, aku tekad kan buat langsir bilik pengantin sendiri. Maklumlah, kan jimat kos. Ni first time aku jahit langsir, menjadi jua. Walaupun nda seberapa, alhamdulillah... Puas jua hati untuk first timer. Yang banarnya, paling memakan masa dalam menjahit tabir ni adalah menyukat. Rasanya lebih 5 kali ku menyukat tingkap tu, yang mana 1 saiz saja pun. Biasalah, nervous sedikit. Nasib baik sempat siap jua. Selepas siap tabir, sehari sebelum majlis nikah, aku buat lagi hiasan katil pengantin. Dan aku buat semua sendi...
